The Worst Dressed Celebrities & The “Meh” Gowns at Met Gala 2016

The annual Met Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last night and as usual, it was one of the most glittering fashion events of the year. While this year’s theme was Manus X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, at the end of the day it’s about celebrating fashion. The designers worked hard to create gowns that brought their A-game to the red carpet but unfortunately, sometimes the gowns–and the celebs wearing them–just didn’t quite make the cut.

I made my picks for the best dressed gowns here but here are the celebs and their gowns that were just a meh or just plain terrible. So here we go. Let me know in the comment section if you agree!

The “Meh” aka the gowns that had me on the fence about them are:

Jennifer Hudson in H&M. I like the top on her but that bottom…it’s too fluff. And I’m not crazy about the makeup.

Karlie Kloss in Brandon Maxwell. I don’t love this dress but I don’t hate it either. She looks pretty but it’s nothing special. This dress is too safe for the Met.

Demi Lovato in Moschino. The color combination of silver, black, and yellow doesn’t go and the dress just doesn’t do anything for Demi.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Monse. I love SJP but I’m not a fan of this look. Her makeup is terrible and the outfit is too casual for the Met.

Kim K and Kanye in Balmain. I hate Kanye’s whole look from the ripped jeans to those weird blue contacts. Kim isn’t as bad since her gown is playing with the technology theme but it doesn’t wow me.

Lady Gaga in Versace. I love Lady Gaga but I really don’t care for this look. She looks like she’s trying to make her own theme of the 80s and what’s up with wearing underpants with your outfit? But only Lady Gaga could wear this outfit so that’s why it’s a meh. P.S Are those shoes comfortable? They look like they would be so hard on your feet and to even make it up the stairs with but she seems to manage it so…hmm.

Lupita Nyong’o in Calvin Klein. I’m not sure if she’s trying to fit the theme but the dress reminds me of a mermaid and the hair…how does it fit the theme??? This whole look confuses me.

Taylor Swift in Louise Vuitton. I think Taylor looks great and I love that she is trying something new but this look would be suited for the MTV awards and not the MET.

Ciara in H&M. The dress is great but that hair? No.

Now…on to the WORST DRESSED of the night…

Selena Gomez in Louis Vuitton. This dress is TERRIBLE!!! I can’t believe this is a Louis Vuitton creation. The dress looks like something from the 90’s and that leather vest? It’s so ugly on her. I’m really surprised to see Selena in this, she’s normally so well dressed! P.S. I’m pretty sure those boots are from the 90’s too.

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton. I don’t know what’s up with the designer this year but here’s another look that is terrible from the brand. Again with those boots (why?) and that outfit? Does it fit the theme? No. Is it glam or glitzy? No. Does it make Michelle look like a little girl? Yes.

Kerry Washington in Marc Jacobs. This dress makes her look like a witch 🙁 That is all.

Gigi Hadid in Tommy Hilfiger and Zayn Malik in Versace. I like Zayn’s outfit as he really tried to fit the technology theme but Gigi’s dress is ugly. The color does nothing for her and that neckline? No.

Madonna in Givenchy. So tired of seeing her almost naked. This outfit is ugly and such a shame to see at the Met.
