Hey everyone!

This weekend I hosted the 11th annual TD Mosaic Festival. The festival ran from August 12-13 at Celebration Square in Mississauga with a great musical concert!

The festival is the longest running arts festival in Mississauga and they bring together local and international artists from all over for a ‘global’ experience. This year, the line-up was fantastic!

On Friday night, we had local artists Saram Jaffery, Shobha Shekher, Shivani Billal,Taal Shakti, and SW Storm perform along with my girl Mizz Taj who got the party going with her urban Punjabi dance mix. The headliner was the lovely Jasmine Sandlas who you all may remember I met just a couple months ago and that was the first time I got the chance to check out her set in person. She’s edgy and she can get you dancing so I knew the crowd would love her and they did! She was sooooo good and as a special treat, she premiered her new single ‘Sara College’ at the show! (P.S I’m in love with that red hair!)

On Saturday, the musical performances continued on but with a little bit of a twist. As I arrived to the site, it began raining hard and while it rained on and off throughout the night, the crowd didn’t let the weather bring them down! By the time we had our Saturday night headliner act come on, the square was packed and everyone was in the mood to keep the party going no matter what. Hey, a little rain never hurt anybody right?

The headliner on Saturday was Karsh Kale who presented a special Coke Studio tribute with fellow singers Benny Dayal (who was performing in Mississauga for the first time) and Apeksha Dandekar. I loved how they finished their set with the song ‘Purple Rain’ by Prince. Quite fitting for the day. Of course, we had to end the festival with a BANG and we did that with a spectacular Bollywood dance performance by the Shiamak Davar Toronto Dance team who choreographed their performance just for Mosaic!

Special shout out to the amazing Mosaic Festival committee for putting together a great show and a shout out to the wonderful team at MediaWorks! and Sumit Ahuja for keeping things organized backstage. I’ve done enough of these live shows to know that while you can plan as much as you want, when it comes down to the actual show date you never know what unexpected things will come up. For us, it was the weather but the team was so good in adjusting and making sure the show went on!

Here are some of my photos from the festival. I had a total blast hosting the festival—thanks to everyone who came out for being an awesome crowd!

Maha Hindi/English tribute to Prince! Neophyte flutist Sushil got so much applause! I don’t think he was expecting it. Warren Mendonsa exceled on his guitar as usual. One heavy night! Max. Moto, Ignacio also added their magic. Interesting you should mentioned the night ended with a BANG, cos they infused Cher’s Bang Bang in one of their earlier numbers.
