Just weeks after Kim Kardashian was robbed at gun point in Paris, actress Mallika Sherawat has been allegedly assaulted at her Paris apartment.

It happened last Friday night when Mallika and her businessman boyfriend Cyrille Auxenfans were arriving back at his apartment at around 9:30 pm. According to reports, the couple were attacked in the hallway of his apartment building by three men wearing scarves to cover their faces. The couple were sprayed with tear gas and pushed to the ground. A robber beat Cyrille while another tried to grab Mallika’s purse but she pushed him away. After a struggle the robbers ran away.

Cyrille’s apartment is in rue de la Faisanderie, upscale area of Paris, and is about 4.3 km away from where Kim was robbed. As of right now, no motive is known and the incident is under investigation. Both Mallika and Cyrille are said to have inhaled the tear gas fumes with Cyrille sustaining injuries. Both refused medical treatment.

Unlike Kim, Mallika has been active on her social media. Since the incident, she’s shared she was in Geneva for a quick weekend, she’s promoted her latest film, and now she’s shared a behind-the-scenes photo from her interview with CNN about the incident. In that interview with CNN, she says “it has really hit home there are millions of underprivileged men and women who face this terror on a daily basis. So the incident has also been very humbling.” When asked how this new incident would affect Paris, she says she doesn’t blame the city. “It can happen anywhere. It can happen to anyone—public, non-public, man, woman, or child. A crime is a crime. I am not going to change the way I live because of the attack….I am a strong woman.”

While it’s good to see Mallika wasn’t harmed in the incident and seems to be doing okay, this incident is making headlines around the world. Does hearing about the attacks on Kim and Mallika make you uneasy about visiting Paris?
