Parineeti Chopra Is Back and Completely Transformed! (Check Out Those Abs)

The new images from the upcoming Bollywood film “Dishoom” were released this week. Take a look at how much Parineeti Chopra has changed! The actress has lost a ton of weight and toned up her body to look fit and fab alongside co-star Varun Dhawan.

Parineeti has always been open in sharing her struggle with her weight. She shared this old photo of herself on her social media and said this in the caption: “All my life, I have struggled with how I look, how I feel, and how people looked at me. I was constantly made fun of, but the person I was, I generously laughed with them. Today, many people ask me what triggered the weight loss, did I give in to the “bollywood pressure”? To that I say—thank god I become an actor and had that pressure! I am able to achieve what I couldn’t achieve otherwise. I feel more confident. I feel at peace, and I feel proud! Girls and women meet me all around the world, at airports, events, on the street; they hold my hand, hug me, and tell me their struggles and how I changed their lives. They show me their wallpapers, their wallets, and its all pictures of me!! They look at those pictures and want to make that change in their own lives. They look at my Built That Way campaign and have struck it to their walls. I have seen women tear up and tell me I changed their life. Post delivery weight, teenage obesity, they are fighting it, and I am their inspiration. As an actor, there is no bigger achievement for me…”

She told Elle magazine: “…I hate the way I look. I hated that I couldn’t fit into my own favourite clothes, let alone the ones for media appearances. But I was just put into the ‘curvaceous actresses’ slot.” With her career taking off and back-to-back filming of films like “Hasee Toh Phasee, Daawat-e-Ishq, and Kill Dill, she wasn’t taking care of herself. “I was eating whatever…I completely neglected my body.”

To regain control back of her body, Parineeti reveals she visited an Austrian health centre to get tested for food allergies and discovered she was allergic to milk and eggs. “Now I know which foods suit me and which ones are harder to digest (milk, eggs). I plan my meals accordingly. People ask me what I’ve given up and the answer is nothing. I eat everything but I know how to balance it out now.”

With a healthy diet, she started doing kalaripayattu with a trainer (which is a martial art form) and once she lost her initial weight goal, she now enjoys going to the gym. “My workouts are more focused now. I want to achieve a particular shape and tone specific muscles. It’s fun! You feel so much better about yourself and when people react, you feel better.”

In order to focus on her weight-loss, Parineeti took a self-imposed one year sabbatical break and clearly it paid off.  “It is liberating. I can wear the clothes I want, without worrying about tires showing or photographing badly. It was a huge personal victory.”
