If you attended the Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s March on Washington anywhere in the world, congratulations! You were part of history. How cool is that?<\/h4>\n

The Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s March was the largest inaugural protest in history with more than a million people worldwide taking part. (If you missed the coverage, watch my experience here<\/span><\/a>).<\/h4>\n

People travelled just to attend the march. People who have never marched before for ANYTHING came out. Men came out. Even Ivanka Trump\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s brother-in-law Joshua Kushner came out. A whole lot of people came out to march in solidarity. How often do we get to go to an event where you can feel at ease that you will be loved, accepted, and cheered on?<\/h4>\n

I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been taking in all the coverage from the marches from around the world. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve listened to the speeches from passionate speakers. I have read the signs. All my morning papers today have several articles on the march. THE MOVEMENT IS EVERYWHERE.<\/h4>\n

But it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the first Monday following the march. What do we do now? How do we keep this momentum going?<\/h4>\n

Here are some of the things you can do:<\/h4>\n

BE INFORMED<\/span><\/h4>\n

Stay on top of all the latest news on Donald Trump\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s policies. Know the facts. Make sure you are getting your news from credible sources. Make it a habit to watch and read a few credible news agencies every day.<\/h4>\n

VOLUNTEER\/DONATE<\/span><\/h4>\n

The marches held in various cities were organized by local women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s groups. In Toronto, the march was organized by a group called We Talk Women<\/em><\/span>. Get to know which local groups are supporting the cause and volunteer. It doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have to be a lot of your time\u00e2\u20ac\u201dwhatever you can do to help out they will appreciate. If you can, donate even if it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s $5. Regardless if it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s your time or money, every little bit helps.<\/h4>\n

KEEP YOUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES ACCOUNTABLE<\/span><\/h4>\n

Wherever you live in the world, your elected representatives work for YOU. They NEED your votes to stay in those positions so make them work for it. Find out who your local representatives and call them. Email them. Go to their offices and meet them. Make sure they know how you want them to vote on certain issues. This works for all levels of government. For those of you who aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t American, your country may soon be having an election (like us Canadians). Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t wait till election time to get your voice heard. Start now.<\/h4>\n

GET INVOLVED<\/span><\/h4>\n

If you feel like you aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t being represented the way you want in government, then why not run yourself? Anyone can run in the election. \u00c2\u00a0Just look at Trump. He is the first president to not have any previous experience in government.\u00c2\u00a0 I know sometimes it seems like the bar is set really high to run but it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s actually not. You don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have to meet a long list of requirements. To learn more about getting involved look up your political party and get in touch. They will guide you on the process. If you are reading this and you are a woman and\/or a minority, you should REALLY consider running. When there is more diversity in the people in government, then you are truly represented.<\/h4>\n
