In 2008, Amin Dhillon entered the world of pageants and has not looked back since. After placing as a runner up at the Miss India Canada beauty pageant in 2008, Amin went on to win the title of Miss India Worldwide Canada. Amin was the Canadian representative at the 2010 Miss India Worldwide beauty pageant that will took place in March 2010 in Durban, South Africa.
As the current Miss India Worldwide Canada, Amin has spent her year campaigning for charity and cultural causes. Amin has selected to work with Folklorama as her official charity. Amin will work with Folklorama to help promote cultural diversity and to encourage youth community involvement. Amin has previously spent many years fundraising for various charities including the Canadian Cancer Society, Winnipeg Harvest, Osteoporosis Manitoba and United Way.
Amin attended the University of Manitoba at the I.H. Asper School of Business. Amin graduated with a Bachelor (Honours) degree in Marketing and Human Resource Management. During her studies at the University of Manitoba, Amin become involved in student politics and volunteered her time to various student committees. She began working with the Commerce Students Association on the First Year Committee and later become Social Programming Chair where she helped raise funds for the school by organizing large social events. In 2007, Amin became President of the University of Manitoba Marketing Association (UMMA) where she helped lead the group to win the best student group of the year award. In 2008, Amin become Director of Marketing for the Commerce Business Banquet Committee.
In March 2010, Amin proudly represented Canada at the 2010 International Miss India Worldwide Pageant in Durban, South Africa where she competed against over 30 of the World's most beautiful Indian Woman. Amin placed in TOP 10 and won the Inaugural Miss Professional Award!
In addition to her academic and pageant pursuits, Amin is currently working as an International Model, Host, Actress, Author and Businesswoman. Amin recently launched her own online boutique www.gpfashionclothing.com and hopes to expand this venture to include retail stores across Canada. Amin is also currently working on writing a series of novels geared at youth and working on television producing and hosting.
She has modeled in and hosted various events and appeared in publications worldwide including India, the Middle East, Africa, USA and Canada. In fact, India Today recently named Amin as one of the sixteen most promising Indian achievers in the world!
In her spare time, Amin enjoys dancing, travelling, watching movies, reading, working out, outdoor activities, and music.
