I would like to welcome CKLY Fashion on board as my Official Evening Gown sponsor. They dressed me at the Miss India Canada pageant and did such a great job that I had to go back to them when I was looking for the perfect dress to wear to the upcoming Miss India Worldwide pageant. I can't show you the dress yet so here is a picture of my dress at Miss India Canada. The dress is a surprise so tune back after March 27 to see photos. Trust me, it's amazing! Thank you to Kelly and her wonderful staff for all of their love and support! I would highly recommend anyone to go check out their store if you're looking for that perfect dress!

I'm also pleased to welcome 17th Market Jewelry as one of my jewelry sponsors. They have the most amazing Indian jewelry and I can't wait to wear some of their beautiful pieces at the pageant! Thanks to Mehreen so all of her love and support! Check back next month to see me wearing their beautiful jewelry pieces at the Miss India Worldwide pageant!

Hey!

Hope you are all doing well! The Miss India Worldwide pageant is a MONTH AWAY!!! Wow does time fly! I can't wait to be in Durban and to meet all the girls. Thank you to everyone for their support and all of your encouraging words. I really appreciate it!

Right now, I'm just finishing up some loose ends before my big trip. I am the worst packer. I'm the type of person who would rather take everything as opposed to finding out that the one dress you left behind was the one you wanted to wear! Oh and shoes! I'm not a big shoe person, I would rather have 1 or 2 really good pairs of shoes to take with me but in this case, I have so many different colored outfits to wear that I can't wear the same shoes with all of them. So now I'm trying to figure out how to reduce the amount of items in my suitcase without leaving behind anything too important.

Wish me luck!

P.S Many of you have emailed me about wanting an update on my reading list. I must confess, I have barely gotten through the list as there has been little reading time but with my travels coming up, I am sure I will be reading to pass the long travelling time so I will update my reading list as soon as I get through the list.

Olympic Fever!

by Amin Dhillon on Feb.12, 2010, under Blog

Go Canada!

Go Canada!

Hey!
Today the Olympics officially begin! So excited to watch all of the athletes on television. I would have loved to go to Vancouver to watch the action in person but with the pageant in a month's time, I had too much to do back home. Oh well!
I'm really rooting for Canada to bring home tons of GOLD! There's something about having the games on Canadian soil that seems to make any medals wins even sweeter.  I personally love to watch the ice skating competitions. I actually used to be a BIG fan back in the day and watch any of their competitions on TV. I haven't really followed it now but I'm looking forward to picking my favorites once the skating begins.
Some sad news though: I read this morning that one of the German athletes participating in Luge died today after hitting a pole while practicing yesterday. How sad! I can't even imagine what the people who knew him must be going through. My thoughts go out to his family and I just hope nothing else happens to the athletes.
Stay safe everyone and GO CANADA!!!!

Hello Everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend. I am exhausted from my weekend and I had to wake up early today to make it to my dance studio to rehearse. Let's just say I'm so not a morning person!

Since it's so hard for me to get up, the first thing I have in the morning is a cup of Tim Hortons coffee. For those of you who dont live in Canada, you're missing out! Everytime I travel for a long period overseas, I always feel I'm close to home when I see a Tim Hortons at the airport. I guess it makes sense that one of my sponsors this year is Tim Hortons (Kamta Singh)!

Some other news is I have another jewelry sponsor on board! I absolutely love jewelry so I'm thrilled to have another jewelry sponsor. I will let you know soon who my new sponsor is. They have some really nice Indian jewelry, which I LOVE! I can't wait to go back to India so I can stock up on tons of Indian jewelry and bangles. Especially the bangles! Everyplace in India sells bangles...even the roadside vendors. And at such amazing prices. I'm like a kid in a candy shop.

I also really miss eating dosas in India. And the veggie burgers at McDonalds India. Seriously, those burgers are GOOD! I'm not a big McDonalds person but in India, I love to get their veggie burgers with cheese and fries. It's so good. I really wish McDonalds in North America had these burgers but then again, I would probably eat them all the time if they were available here, so it's a blessing I guess. If you're ever in India, you have to go try the McDonalds and you have to go eat dosas. They are so light and crispy.

Cheers!
