My Reading List

by Amin Dhillon on Nov.26, 2009, under Blog

Hey Everyone,

Earlier, I had asked you to recommend some books for me to read. I want to start reading books again as it's one of those simple pleasures that can tossed aside as soon as time is an issue. So I really want to start working on the must read books of this year and even catch up on some old classics that I haven't had time to read.

So here is my reading list. Feel free to comment on the selection. If you read any of these books, let me know what you thought!

Reading List:

1. The Martha Rules by Martha Steward

2. Blink by Malcolm Gladwell

3 The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga

4. 151 Quick Ideas for Advertising on a Shoestring by Jean Joachim

5. 1001 Advertising Tips by Luc Dupont

6. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

7. Trump Never Gives Up by Donald Trump

You will notice, a lot of the books on my list right now are related to business and advertising/marketing. I have a business degree and I am working on my online boutique GP FASHION CLOTHING so I love to read about business related items as well as about other successful business leaders. I have started to read book number one on my list and I'll let you know what I think about the books after I finish them all. With that said, I have a lot more books that I want to read but I figured I would set 7 as a goal for now. So if you just finished reading a really great book, email me at contactus@amindhillon.com and let me know!

Happy Reading!

Hello

Amin Dhillon, Miss India Canada Runner up, photo 2Sorry to have not updated in so long but I've been having major computer and Internet problems. I finally got a network router and I now have wifi, which makes life so much easier! I can now update from my laptop, even though my desktop computer is still having problems but what can you do??  I've been busy working hard on a number of projects I'm working on. From getting into tip top shape for the upcoming Miss India Worldwide pageant to working on launching my boutique website GP Fashion Clothing, life is definitely busy but I wouldn't have it any other way. Not sure about you, but here in Winnipeg, we have been blessed with NO SNOW! It's almost December and it's beautiful outside. A little chilly but not bad and of course did i mention we have NO SNOW??!! LOL, if you have never been to Winnipeg, you probably won't understand but we always have such cold and snowy winters. Every winter I am always thinking about how I will move to a warmer climate but then summer comes along and usually our summers are HOT, so then I will forget all about the cold until winter comes up again and the whole thing repeats itself. Trust me, you would want to avoid not having to warm up a car 30 minutes prior to leaving the house everytime and then using a ice scraper to get rid of the thick ice on the windows and wearing layers and layers of clothes.  LOL.

Hope everyone is enjoying this time as we get closer to Christmas. We have our Christmas lights up and we will be putting up our tree soon so we are definitely in the Christmas mood. I love Christmas, except for the cold part, but I love the delicious cooking and being inside wrapped up in a blanket, watching a movie with a cup of tea while snowflakes fall against the window. Oh and I love Christmas music and getting together with friends and family. How do you all celebrate the Christmas holidays? Everyone celebrates in their own way so I would love to hear what you and your family like to do for the holidays...do you have any cool traditions??

Remember, I always love to hear from my fans so feel free to email me to say hi. Don't forget to follow me on Twitter at www.twitter.com/amindhillon or add me on Facebook!

Cheers,

Remembrance Day

by Amin Dhillon on Nov.11, 2009, under Blog

Hello Everyone!

Today is Remembrance Day. I'm spending the day with my Mom but my thoughts go out to all of those individuals who can't be with their loved ones.  Thank you to all of those individuals who serve their countries and allow many of us to enjoy our freedoms and rights. As a Canadian, I am proud my country recognizes the importance of helping other countries in their time of need. However, I know there are so many families waiting to be with their loved one who are away serving their countries.

So I hope everyone enjoys their day off but take a moment to read about Remembrance Day and think of the the people who are working hard to protect us.

Cheers!
